Motivational Interviewing: Foundational Skills

COURSE INTRODUCTION.

The seminar will involve a combination of theoretical and practical training, foundation and skills workshop.

Motivational interviewing (MI) is a psychologically informed approach defined as a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication. MI has been widely recommended for implementation by a range of healthcare professionals (including AHPs) as a complex behaviour change intervention.

This two-day course will introduce you to the evidence base underpinning MI and the concepts which shape MI practice.
